Larry Lawson has been the Worship Pastor of Cowpens First Baptist since 2018. A Cowpens native raised in this church, he came to know Christ personally as an eight-year-old boy. His call to ministry became very clear during his high school senior year.    Larry has served Cowpens First  three times prior to this 5 year tenure. He has served in churches from NC to SC for the past 33 years in full-time and part time ministry positions. Larry was ordained into the ministry in June 2000 at Anderson Mill Rd. Baptist Church (Church at the Mill), Moore, SC, where he served for seven years as Worship Pastor.  

For his education and training, Larry attended Limestone University in Gaffney, SC with a degree in Music Education and Church Music. He currently is Dean of Operations at Meeting Street Academy in Downtown Spartanburg while also serving here at Cowpens First. Larry enjoys cooking, tennis and other outdoor activities in his spare time.
